I'm going. It should be fun. (^_^)

If you're asking if anyone has been to SakuraCon before, yes, I have. It's
grown quite a bit over the years - it used to be a simple Anime convention
in a Holiday Inn near Everett - now it's in the main Washington State
Convention Center in Seattle.

More info here:

Be aware that, if you're not pre-registered, the lines to get in can be very
long - plan accordingly.

Cheers,
Paul

Don’t live in the area, haven't been to that one. Funimation posted that
they'll be there, have some stuff available to buy before the release date
such as Sgt. Frog Season 2, giveaways, that sort of thing.

Went today. Stood in a really long line. Paid a ridiculously high
registration fee. Was mostly disappointed except for all the ladies
in Cosplay outfits.

I've been meaning to go for years, but the guest list was really weak
this year, IMHO.

Fridays or opening days of cons are usually the slowest, in
events/guests/goers. Plus, isn't it Anime Boston that's also going on this
weekend? It's bigger, so going to draw more and bigger guests. Just
consider it part of the learning curve. Next year or time, you'll get
preregistered, check out the guests and events (and if there's other cons
the same weekend), etc. Best things about cons on Fridays/opening days is
forums or workshops, sometimes hosted by well known guests, and the number
attending is smaller than on the weekend forums, so you get more time to
interact; and you get to the dealer's room and check them out for the gaps
in your collections ahead of the weekend hoards. That leaves you free to
catch all the cosplay, AMV, gaming, media events, etc, for the remainder.
