Hi readers and typers,

I just watche Miss Hosukai anime movie this afternoon. Miss Hokusai
(百日紅 Sarusuberi) is a Japanese historical manga series written and
illustrated by Hinako Sugiura, telling the story of Katsushika Ōi who
worked in the shadow of her father Hokusai. It was adapted into an anime
film, Miss Hokusai, directed by Keiichi Hara, that was released in 2015.
I rented this from Netflix. It was created by a great mangaka
who died young but whose work inspired the director to create this
excellent historical movie. So much work here with the teeming throngs
of Edo in the early 19th Century starting about the time of the US-UK
war of 1812.
Miss Hokusai is about more than just Katsushika Oi, but her
blind sister, her mother, and of course her Father and master to her
apprentices-ship, Hokusai himself, as well as lesser known artists.
I enjoyed this movie immensely and you can rent it or find
a copy online. It got mostly high rating at Rotten Tomatoes which
can be seen at <https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/miss_hokusai/>
Only one annoyance, the manga has not been translated.
Get it and watch it however you can.
